Servants of the Servants of the Lord

The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets people to do the greatest things.” These words by Ronald Reagan reflects that a leader should know how to serve his or her people for them to do the greatest things, even if the one who manages the team does not necessarily do all of it.

Leadership is more than being the one who does all the work, or the one who just sits around doing nothing. Leadership is more of a privilege because it gives you the chance to serve the people for their own good. As to what Ronald Reagan said, a leader is someone that gets the people moving to bring out the best in them. One of the leaders that I consider one of the best is our current 9A class president, not only is she helpful, but also her open-mindedness and her ability to be sensitive about her actions are what I consider her best traits. She is open to new ideas and she makes sure that everyone gets the chance to express their thoughts so that we can bring out the best of our abilities. Her sensitivity is what really stands out, she is careful about her actions and she takes responsibility for what she’s done wrong.

When Jesus transformed Peter from being weak to being strong, it was because of God’s grace. This transformation also happened to me when I was about to enter La Salle. I was scared because the environment was new, but as the year progresses, it strengthened me to become assertive and to try new things as well. Although during this time, I also experienced struggles, especially when the classes started. During that time span, I was usually quiet and I used to long for my friends from my old school. After some time, I accepted the challenge to make friends. Then it worked out pretty well after that.

As the book of Matthew states in this verse (Matthew 20:26-28), “Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” We can be exemplify “servants of the servants of God” by being able to show “Servant Leadership.” By referring to this verse, one can show servant leadership when he is not the one to be served, but the one to help the people around him. It is something that Jesus did, and we should do it not only for the improvement of society, but also for us to spread positivity.
